As I reflect on my own path, I realise that three core values have been instrumental in guiding me forward: Kindness, Drive, and Balance.
Kindness: The Power of Self-Compassion
Kindness isn’t just an external gesture; it begins within. For me, it’s about showing compassion towards myself, nurturing a mindset that extends grace and understanding in moments of self-doubt or setbacks. This inner kindness isn’t just for my benefit; it’s a ripple effect that can eventually reach everyone I encounter, especially my clients. When I approach myself with kindness, it creates a space for empathy and support to flourish, fostering an environment where growth becomes not just a goal, but a natural progression.
Drive: Fuelling the Journey with Consistency and Support
Drive isn’t merely about ambition; it’s about the relentless pursuit of progress, coupled with the wisdom to seek help along the way. Setting realistic goals has been key for me, ensuring that each step forward is attainable and meaningful. But I’ve learned that I don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Seeking guidance from coaches, mentors, and professionals has been invaluable, allowing me to build a robust support network. In particular, Cheryl MacDonald, Yogabellies, Kelly McHugh - Digital Yoga Academy, B is for Brand & Moray Business Women communities. And as I’ve grown, I’ve made it my mission to empower others to do the same, recognising that we’re stronger together. I've also started to grow my own team, supporting my team members and apprentice.
Balance: Finding Equilibrium On and Off the Stage
In the whirlwind of life, balance is the steady anchor that keeps everyone grounded. Whether it’s performing a routine or guiding clients on the mat, I strive to maintain harmony in all aspects of my life. It’s about recognising when to push forward and when to pause, listening to the rhythm of my body and mind.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing my own twins enjoying health and fitness, asking for meditations, and doing their own little practices at home. Their enthusiasm reminds me of the importance of cultivating balance not only for myself but also for my family.
By blending kindness and drive with a sense of balance, I’ve discovered a synergy that propels me forward with purpose and energy. From my background in performing on stage to delivering classes, including a mix of styles and techniques, as well as conducting live online recorded teacher training sessions internationally, I understand the pressure of juggling it all. Yet, by integrating kindness, drive, and balance, I’ve found a rhythm that fuels my journey with intention and grace.
